Otis Hughley, D’tigress Head Coach

Otis Hughley is Head coach of the Nigerian senior women’s basketball team, D’tigress. Coach Hugley has vast experience working with NBA teams, including Golden state warriors, and Sacramento Kings. Coach Otis also has experience with national teams with stints as a coach on China national team. Coach Otis will lead D’tigress to FIBA Women’s world cup and Afrobasket qualification games.
Otis Hughley begins his first season as an assistant coach with the Kings after coaching the last seven years (2004-2010) at LeFlore High School in Mobile, Ala., where he guided the Rattlers to six final four appearances in seven seasons and a 2007 6A state title. The New York native coached current Kings center DeMarcus Cousins for two seasons (2007-08 and 2008-09) at LeFlore as the team posted a combined 59-6 mark. Prior to coaching at LeFlore, Hughley was an assistant coach at several universities, including Wright State, Liberty, and Southern. He was also a head coach at Wallace Community College of Selma, Ala., for four years (1993-97).
